Extra curriculum

Education for leisure is part of education for life and students are encouraged to play a full part in the extra-curricular life of the “Turan” lyceum and to develop their skills and talents outside the classroom. Through this development of the whole person, we aim to show children the way in which they can use their own unique tastes and talents in a useful and meaningful way. Seeing it as part of our duty the lyceum offers a full range of facilities for extra-curricular activities and events: a modern gym equipped with the latest gear, a sports ground, two football pitches – all with safe covering, a library, a ‘chess’ room, a music hall, a choreography hall and etc. The extra curriculum program comprises a wide choice of clubs and activities at lunchtime and after school. These include sports, debating, art, drama, dance, choir, school magazine, computing, after classes tutorials and many others. There are trips abroad to the UK, the USA, France and Malta.

Children are engaged in various sport sections after classes. Sports: volleyball, football, basketball, chess are hobbies of many students of the lyceum. Participating in competitions of various scales supports the growth of young sportsmen skills.

This year the girls’ team in football got the first place and the boys’ team the second in the city football championship among private schools of Almat

Our students are always eager to participate in various after classes events, such as “Myths and Legends” among the pupils of the 4th form,

or biological game ‘What do we eat?’ among the students of the 9th and 10th forms.
